Time goes by and the business ends and you sit and exhale a big sigh of relief. Task accomplished and well done. Here comes the applause.
The Election Committee
A number of years ago the membership asked that RVing Women be run by the members. Since the members are spread all over the United States and Canada, it was recognized that member-driven meant the election of a board to follow through with what the members wanted and to be responsible for the legal and fiduciary aspects of RVW. We have had some great boards of directors, and we will continue to have good strong ones.
Many of the board candidates have been the result of the encouragement of the women of the Election Committees. This year we owe a big thank you to Wendy Humphreys and Liz Kieffer who have networked with many of you to surface a good slate of candidates. We wish all of our candidates well in your endeavors to be part of this leadership.
Be sure to give Wendy and Liz a pat on the back for their efforts—but gently, for they may be bruised from some of you who weren’t quite ready and resisted their efforts. There is a joy in being a member of the Election Committee for you are those who help determine who is to step up to be potentially chosen by the membership to lead this great organization.
This next year the election will be earlier so that we may begin to orient and train incoming board members–elect in their duties during the convention gathering and to provide for a more developed and effective board from the start of the year. While you are thanking Wendy and Liz, think about mentioning to them or any current board member that you are beginning to think about starting to get ready for this wonderful opportunity to serve RVW.
The Chapter Leader Voxwire Meetings
Chapter leaders attended one of two online meetings to share ideas with each other and with the board leadership. Both Jan Harris and Candy Wood wish to express their gratitude for those who were able to navigate Voxwire and attend the meeting. Great ideas were shared, concerns discussed and enthusiasm for this wonderful organization expressed. We’re looking forward to another opportunity to share. If your chapter leader cannot attend, perhaps you would like to represent your chapter in her stead.

A big thank you to the RVW members who have written with concerns about getting on the message forum and chat room of the website. Thank you so much for your patience during this transition time, and for pointing out the parts that need attention. It has been an exciting time and many of you wrote and helped to make the website better.
