Heart of Dixie and Texas Ramblin’ Roses Chapters
Henderson, Louisiana

Cajun Palms RV Resort
1055 N. Barn Road
Henderson, LA 70517

This RV resort is in the Breaux Bridge area near Lafayette, Louisiana. Located right off I-10, west of Baton Rouge, it is in the heart of Cajun Country and just 119 miles east of the Texas/Louisiana border. Sites are spacious and pull through with 30/50 amp full hookups and cable. We have options to explore Acadian Louisiana and learn about Tabasco on Avery Island, tour the oldest rice mill in the U.S. or an 1834 sugar plantation. You can enjoy living history at the Acadian Culture Center or visit the Acadian exhibit at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. There is also bird watching and driving scenic country lanes winding past bayous and oak and cypress trees covered in Spanish moss. Of course there is great Cajun food, Cajun dancing and maybe a visit to the only remaining Borden’s Ice Cream Shoppe.

The rally will officially begin at 4 p.m. Friday with announcements in the meeting room, so bring your own drink and snacks to share. The group photo will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday followed by the potluck. Sunday there will be a hookup breakfast of local pastries from 7 to 9 a.m.

Make your reservations ASAP by contacting the park at 337-667-7772. In the hopes of all of us being parked together, remember to tell the RV park you are with Texas Ramblin’ Roses, our rally partner. We have reserved 20 sites together. The rally rate is $30/night if we get 15 or more rigs. While the official rally dates are Friday through Sunday, the rally rate is good from January 8 to January 13. If you stay the entire six nights, the seventh night (January 13) is free. If we do not get 15 rigs for the rally, the nightly rate is $35 (less Good Sam discount). Cabins are also available that sleep 4-6 for $109/night. Wi-Fi is available in the clubhouse. Visit to see all the amenities and the park map.

Mary Quaid is the Heart of Dixie hostess for this rally, but our lead hostess is Texas Ramblin’ Roses’ Donna Carmon. Once you have made your reservation, please send an email to BOTH hosts at AND If you prefer text, Donna can be reached at 405-209-5001 and Mary at 225-936-9328. Donna says she'll arrive on Wednesday, January 8 and leave January 15.
