HEART OF DIXIE CHAPTER

SEPTEMBER 8 - 28, 2020

Each rally will also be listed separately by date.

6 STOP ROLLING RALLY - Come to one or come to all!

The Heart of Dixie Chapter is venturing out on a 1,600-mile rolling rally, beginning right after Labor Day and running through most of September 2020.  We will rally at all the states which comprise our chapter, i.e. Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana, as well as a stop in North Carolina.

Sites are not reserved for the group and some of the campsites are limited so make your reservations early. Overflow or alternative campgrounds are listed where campsites are limited.

If our group is in multiple locations, we will coordinate activities with everyone! Please note that many places have modified their services due to Covid19 so make sure that the services (including bathhouse) that you may need are available at that location.

While there is yet no rally host at any location, Mary Quaid is serving as a Point of Contact and can be reached at mfq@cox.net or 225 936-9328. If you reserve a site, please e-mail Mary with the name of the campground, site number, and dates if different from those posted (preferably one e-mail 😊 that contains all locations).

Please tie a red bandanna to your RV while on this and all Heart of Dixie rallies.

Rally 5 of 6

Hamburg State Park

The fifth of our six rallies starts on Monday, Sept 21st for two nights at Hamburg State Park,  https://gastateparks.org/Hamburg, outside of Mitchell, GA.

According to its website, “with modern-day facilities amidst reminders of days gone by, Hamburg State Park offers a wonderful mix of history and outdoor recreation. A campground offers shaded sites along the edge of quiet Hamburg Lake fed by the Little Ogeechee River. Anglers can enjoy fishing for largemouth bass, crappie and bream, as well as boat ramps and a fishing pier. Wildlife enthusiasts should look for turtles, alligators, raccoons, deer, birds and numerous other animals that live within the park. The restored 1921 water-powered gristmill is still operational and used to grind corn during events. The park’s museum is also open during events, displaying old agricultural tools and implements used in rural Georgia.”
