HEART OF DIXIE CHAPTER

SEPTEMBER 8 - 28, 2020

Each rally will also be listed separately by date.

6 STOP ROLLING RALLY - Come to one or come to all!

The Heart of Dixie Chapter is venturing out on a 1,600-mile rolling rally, beginning right after Labor Day and running through most of September 2020.  We will rally at all the states which comprise our chapter, i.e. Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana, as well as a stop in North Carolina.

Sites are not reserved for the group and some of the campsites are limited so make your reservations early. Overflow or alternative campgrounds are listed where campsites are limited.

If our group is in multiple locations, we will coordinate activities with everyone! Please note that many places have modified their services due to Covid19 so make sure that the services (including bathhouse) that you may need are available at that location.

While there is yet no rally host at any location, Mary Quaid is serving as a Point of Contact and can be reached at mfq@cox.net or 225 936-9328. If you reserve a site, please e-mail Mary with the name of the campground, site number, and dates if different from those posted (preferably one e-mail 😊 that contains all locations).

Please tie a red bandanna to your RV while on this and all Heart of Dixie rallies.

Rally 6 of 6

SEPTEMBER 24 - 28

Tickfaw State Park
27225 Patterson Rd
Springfield, LA 70462

The sixth of our six rallies starts on Thursday, Sept. 24th for 4 nights at Tickfaw State Park https://www.crt.state.la.us/louisiana-state-parks/parks/tickfaw-state-park/index in Springfield, LA.

This park offers a unique opportunity to see four ecosystems (cypress/tupelo swamp, a bottomland hardwood forest, a mixed pine/hardwood forest, and the Tickfaw River) on over a mile of boardwalks through the park.  In addition to boardwalk trails, there is also a canoe trail.  Nearby Ponchatoula offers a glimpse into historic and small town living in Louisiana.  A 45-minute drive to the famous Middendorf’s Restaurant on Bayou Manchac is a must!

Reservations can be made here: https://louisianastateparks.reserveamerica.com/ .  Carolyn Patin is in site 29.  Mary Quaid is in site 25.
